Somebody once wrote 'The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry'.
That's sort of been my day so far, except the plans all worked, but stuff got thrown in that made it go all floopy.
I got up early as I had to go post some ducks to America then pick up a prescription before going home, having a shower and change of clothes, then meeting a very dear friend of mine for lunch.
Things were going swimmingly until upon my journey back from the shops, I found myself next to a person that has done their best to make my life Hell. I'm not going to go into deep details about it, suffice to say that the person was heading towards my home, and I reckon that if I hadn't over taken them, they'd have turned up on my doorstep.
I'm not scared of the person - far from it - just that if they had been foolish enough to tread foot on my land, I'm not sure I'd have been able to hold in about 10 years worth of pain, anguish and anger.
So it was probably for the best that they didn't.
But, just after I saw the person (it saw me at the same time, btw as I walked right by it) I called the ex-partner-in-crime as I thought they were following me, and although he was in the middle of teaching a pupil to drive and couldn't talk, he got the pupil to drive to my house as part of the lesson to check that I was alright, bless him.
That really did make me feel safer.
Anyway, 'it' didn't knock at my door, and at noon my friend picked me up, and we went for a most delightful lunch at the Pillars restaurant, which is run as a training place for chefs, waiters, bar staff and so.

As I write this, I am totally stuffed full of prawn and avocado salad, chicken satay, steak cooked to perfection and served with seasonal vegetables and garlic and chive butter, followed by a near perfect creme brulee, all washed down with lashings of perfectly chilled white wine.
Yum.
Other than that, another nice thing happened that wasn't on the agenda, was that I managed to catch the postman this morning to find that he's the same one that I blagged a load of red rubber bands off for my 'red rubber band ball', and I got another hundred or so to add to it.

Starting to look impressive, eh?
And to make the day perfect, in a couple of hours (18:00GMT) I have a gorgeous male coming to stay with me until Friday.
I can't wait to cuddle up to him in bed, and chill out watching daft films with him lying in my arms.
Yep, my feline friend Fred's coming to stay for a while, and I can't wait to be covered in orange fur and getting woken up by a cat spleeping on me.
All in all, it would have been a perfect day if it hadn't been fot 'it' turning up, and the fact that my 'puter is once again having a hissy fit, but hopefully, that's getting sorted out asap. w00t!
Anyhoo, how the Dickens are you lot doing? Everything going well, or are there eddies in the Space-Time Continuum Vortex of your lives right now?
Tell me all.
Or not.
Whatever.
Or, if you have time to spare you can do me a favour!
Find me a photo I can use for tomorrow's Caption Competition and send me the link!
Oh yes! That's a good one! :o)
Over to you, my little wombats!
And Happy Tuesday, one and all!
