As it's been rather a long time since I've done a 'Round Robin Story', and I can't think of anything else for the Friday Fun Stuff, you're getting another one for the weekend.
For those not au fait with the thang, what happens is that I write the opening paragraph, and then you take it in turns to carry on the story in the comments box below.
Hopefully, I won't have to put my 'editor's hat' on too often, and by Monday we should have a right ripping yarn to read through.
So, ready?
Good, here goes.

It was one of those 'long, dark, teatime of the soul' afternoons, where time seems to stand still except for the rain beating a tattoo on the window pane.
Jeremiah stared at the view before him. The city was deserted except for a few sorry looking and very damp cats that were eking a meal from the dumpster behind Marty's Diner.
He jumped at the shrill interuption of his mobile, and ran to dig it from his coat pocket to stop The Crazy Frog as quickly as he could. That ringtone could only mean one thing.
"Hello?" he whispered into the handset, "Is it time then?"
